| Big Sky Flyers is a radio controlled model aircraft club located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The flying field is located just a few miles south of the city. (please see map below for directions). The field is a well maintained grass airstrip with wide open spaces and good parking close to the pit area. Spectators are welcome and there are usually members out flying on most weeknights and weekends all season, weather permitting.
The main interest of our club is radio controlled aircraft however there are a few members who are also interested in RC helicopters. For the most part, the members are sport flyers out for some good flying. Other interests in the club are pylon racing, gliders, scale aircraft, electric aircraft and we even have a model rocket enthusiast in the group. The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. from October through May. The meetings are normally held at the Fort Garry Community Centre just east of the Pembina/McGillvray intersection. This club is a member of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (M.A.A.C.) - the governing body for model aircraft in Canada. All members in the club are required to have a valid M.A.A.C. membership. The Big Sky Flyers welcomes all new members and any questions concerning membership can be directed to any of the following listed below: |
